Well, here is an interesting new twist on things.

Instead of TI coming to install Shrek, we had THX come out and do the install with a local service organization also being trained.

They are also going to be doing sound setup.

The tech was pretty amazed at what he saw in the CP500. He goes, its going to sound like a totally different house when we get done.

For those who care, 11 disks to load, around 50 gig he said, NO TRAILERS !

Was the THX tech saying there was a problem with your normal CP500 setup, or that they were installing a custom setup for the Digital Cinema presentation of "Shrek"?

I recall that they (THX and Tom Lipiec) evidently brought in new speakers and installed a new screen when I saw the digital version of "Phantom Menace" two years ago in New Jersey --- the temporary speaker wires were strung along the side of the auditorium.

When I saw this in DLP in the AMC Pleasure Island 24 in Florida, there was an "Atlantis" trailer with it (same as the one enclosed in the cans)

Why is THX fooling around with the Dolby CP-500? I thought DLP projection shows featured 20-bit LPCM 5.1 sound, not Dolby Digital. Have digital projection standards fallen further?
