Effective immediately, if anyone is looking for info on a print that does not yet have a thread (use the "search" feature at the top of this page to verify first), please follow the following practice exactly. I will use the title of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as an example.Your subject header should look EXACTLY like this:
Raiders of the Lost Ark (request)
This should make navigating the subjects MUCH easier. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

SR? I've never seen one with an SR track. Have you seen this personally?Also you failed to mention that the depot is ETS and there are prints on "Eastman" as well as "LPP".

Nope, come to think of it...I've never seen an SR print. I must have dreamed it. Our 70mm is pink/brown also...but still very good condition apart from that.
Did anyone ever confirm / deny the SRD print exists?

Unless a new print was struck sometime after 1992, there are no SRD prints available for Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The Brattle in Cambridge is currently running a new print of Raiders. See http://www.brattlefilm.org/ . Maybe it has SR and/or SR-D?

I think this is a good idea. That way, the movie title is the beginning of the subject rather than the end of it. There have been times I've wanted to request information, but didn't want to post a "Requesting print info for X" because I felt it would be a matter of time before Brad would request that a different style subject be used. The new style will also be better if a sorting mechanism is ever put in place to sort by title.

70mm prints of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" from the original release are likely printed on EASTMAN Color Print Film (5381 or 5383 (aka "SP") ) before Kodak introduced the much more stable color print films for general use in 1982-1983. Even prints on the film with older dye technology stored properly (cool, dry and vented) should look decent. Stored improperly (hot, humid, sealed cans), 20 year old prints with the old dye technology are quite red by now:

Nine times out of ten all info is posted on a film the thursday before release. Therefore is it really necessary to request the info. I believe if you are are having a presentation after the films release date and can't find the info, then a request is in order. Just out of curiosity can wait until thursday night or friday morning. it just seems to me seeing that -request- after a title is unnecessary. Why not post the title without the word request and in your post request the info if so needed. Just offering my opinion and punching this to the top.

Regarding quoting the IMDB, I must agree please do not do this. Also, please do NOT go by paperwork received at your theater, whether it be a booking sheet, IME Scoreboards, or even if someone you know attended a trade screening. Many theaters do not have proper aspect ratios and many people easily confuse scope and flat in such auditoriums. As a modification to the rules, everyone please adhere to this:Do not post information regarding a given film unless you have PERSONALLY handled a print. Posting second hand information is not permitted in any form.

Latest addition, please do not request print info for a print any earlier than the day of it's release. The policy has been modified that info should only be posted to this forum if the member has actually handled a print themselves. Because of this, not all prints have early screenings ran by Film-Tech members, and as such the earliest time for some prints for members to post such data would be the night before it's release anyway. Thanks.

Why can't we request info before the opening date? Wanting to know such info is usually helpful for making schedules, but by the time the film is realeased and your theater has the print, the schedule will already be made, and you'll already have the info you need anyway.

Thats what your bookers and buyers are for.
We always have the info we need a week ahead of time which is plenty of time to make the schedule.The information may be wrong every once in a while, but when it is, its usually not wrong by much.

There's also this need-to-know issue. The way things were going, nary a movie opened where someone didn't bother to post a request before it openned (or so it seemed). If you permit them, it's just needless white noise.--jhawk
