My print says "Premier" on the can, and is printed on 2393 Vision Premier Stock. Did I get this print on mistake (small town 13,000 people) or is everyone's print like this.

Kodak VISION Premier Color Print Film is often preferred for animated features because it allows more saturated colors:

Both my prints had a splice following the "attached" trailer of Star Wars. Unfortunately, following the splice was that nasty leader with the white edges opposite the soundtrack that Fox is famous for. The problem is that if you excize all of those frames, you will cut off part of the analog soundtrack. Great choice, Fox- either you treat your audience to flashes of white on the right side of the screen, or you cut the drum roll.

Delux lab ought to be shot!

The print I watched tonight had something wrong with the Fox fanfare, it has murky blotches all over it. It only is on the Fox logo and a few seconds into the feature.

I also noticed some CAP dots printed on the film...

My prints of Ice age went one further. In adittion to that white edged leader, my star wars trailers still had their tails on!

My print of Ice Age was very dirty for a new print. I ran it through the cleaner and it looks fine now, but maybe it's just more noticeable since there is alot of white onscreen.

Sounds like the attached "Star Wars Episode 2" trailer was added in "positive assembly" or at the exchange. So it may have picked up some (mis-) handling dirt.

To all: A print being dirty is most always the fault of the theater you saw it at. In the instance the film arrived dirty, please do not post this sort of thing in this forum. That is what the Yak forum is for.

In this case, it appears that there may be a pattern of having extra black dirt on the prints, perhaps related to the extra film handling in attaching the "Star Wars Episode 2" trailer. If the theatre routinely uses an effective film cleaner (Film Done Right!), it sounds like the dirt is cleaned off easily.

What's up with the position of the reel changes in this film? It seems like every one occurs at a really bad time. I used to think that Brad was crazy to suggest not leaving an ID frame when making up a print for large-reel or platter exhibition, but now I'm not so sure, particularly in this case. Having quick cuts and important dialogue immediately before or after a reel change is just silly....
