In the May issue of American Cinematographer there is an ad for Cooke optics with an endorsement from cinematographer Ed Lachman that includes a sidebar featuring a bit of interesting info on the origination format of Simone. It reads: "Ed Lachman has been a DP since 1975. His two most recent pictures are Ken Park and Simone which was shot both anamorphic and Super 35 (with Cooke S4 lenses)."

Unfortunately, for now, most New Line features are on Fuji print film.------------------

If there's any Super 35 in there it's likely the scenes that were subject to digital manipulation. The straight stuff is beautiful crisp real anamorphic and has the negative splices to prove it.

Head and tail of Alliance Atlantis snipe at start of feature was 2 sproket holes out of frame (leaving film in frame once feature starts). And of course, like always, the snipe was clear spliced on, had no digital track and looked used.

Daryl,I am positive that the Alliance Atlanis snipe does have Dolby digital on it.

The snipes on the attatched trailers were in digital, the snipe before the feature was in optical only. Also the ones on the trailers were the 'newer' style and the feature was the 'older' style. I also forgot to mention the big green scratch down the centre of the feature snipe.
