Nothing attached. Loose: Tuck Everlasting and Shanghai Knights

WARNING!!! Reel 4 is printed about 1/4 of a perforation out of frame! Framing on these trade screening prints will be necessary for this one reel.

Is it PRINTED out of frame (framelines change position), or COMPOSED out of frame? Was it shot with anamorphic lenses or Super-35?

It was PRINTED out of frame.

I noted that you said workprint. So I was just exploring whether they extracted the wrong image area from a Super-35 negative, or if the framelines on the print were indeed shifted due to a problem with the contact printer.

Why it's right here.

Now note carefully the position of the frame line in between the perforations at the end of reel 3 here...

Sure it's off just a tad, but the whole movie was like that. NOW take a look at where the frame lines are in reel 4...

The end result is that it looks like the reel change splice was made out of frame and the projectionist screwed up. Not so. Beware!

Much too much shift to be explained by bi-directional printing of the release prints (would typically be only 0.078 - 0.073 = 0.005 inches).
And release prints from Technicolor are usually done in one direction only.

Suspect the shift happened "upstream" of the final printing, during the printing of the master positive or duplicate negative.
