I know this will sound odd, but whoever put the leaders on this movie really screwed up.
Platter theaters...
When assembling the reels, cut the tails 24 frames after the final changeover cue just like normal. Note that there are edge frameline marks on the tail leader, but they do not start until several frames after the proper cut point. If in doubt, hold the film up to a light and you will be able to see the hard matted final frame on the reel. HOWEVER, when cutting the head leader off of the incoming reel, cut it at the "2" on the countdown, not where the "0" would be! In other words, find the "3" on the countdown and cut 16 frames later. THAT is the proper place to cut this film, and this lab error was made on every reel. If you fail to do this, you will lose about 2 seconds of audio at the beginning of every reel which I guarantee will sound bad. Each reel begins with a fade in and ends with a fade out. The lab failed to duplicate the first couple of seconds of audio on the incoming reel at the end of the outgoing reel, but since each reel change happens in black, assembling the print in this manner will result in a flawless reel change joint to the audience.
Changeover theaters should not be affected.

Made for TV. First screened in the UK on ITV1. There were most likely commercial breaks after every reel. Very, very limited cinema release a month later over here. Theatrical release must have been an afterthought, no excuse for film done wrong of course.

It's quite the movie! On my print, Par Classics or someone had attached the PC logo head to tail. Oh, and it was a Scope one, too. I caught and removed it during the bench inspection. Then just for fun I leadered it up and ran it as a separate 20 second reel with the proper lens & plate, letting it spill on the 1.85 masking then changed over to R1 (Naturally I did not put it back on.) Later I found a note about this from the prior guy in the 2nd can. Did he skip over the defective logo or find out the hard way, on screen? It was the latter, I found out later. Oops.

As Brad stated above, every reel change is a fade-out > fade-in. The end credits song is "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2. On US release prints the song will continue for approx. 2 1/2-3 minutes after the rating card. Take this into account when placing your shutdown cue.

Good point Charles and the print I ran was like that as well. I always count back from the last good frame of black X number of feet/frames to put the shutdown cue, but I suppose not everyone cues their prints with that mindset.
