Since this is a particularly nice print of an old film, it seems worth posting some details about this particular print. Brad, if you think this is wrong, please let me know and I'll move it to Yak.

Negative stock: 1989 datecode (X+triangle). Edgecode throughout is A54Xnnnnn (Kodak 5243?), but edgecode on leader is KV (5244/7244/2244).
30' leaders
Print quality is very nice, but:
Heads and tails are double-cut from lazy plattering 
. Tails are double-cued from lazy changeover (IP lab cues are present, 18 frames before end; Clint Phare -style hand cues also present, generally a few frames away from or overlapping the lab cues. When we received it, china marker slashes were also present over the hand cued frames, but I've removed those).
There are some thin base-side scratches present, esp. at the start of R1, and then sporadically throughout. While they unfortunately marr what would otherwise be an almost-perfect print, it is still "very good," especially given what you might expect for 40-year old title.

For the record, this is the same print that Frank Angel has raved about a couple of times on the Film Handler's Forum. No intermission on this print.

For repertory prints where there are very few in existance, I think this is the perfect place for such detailed descriptions.

Only surviving original UK release print held in the UK.

Archive print from the BFI
Blue Dolphin hold the rights to the film in the UK (35mm 1992 print available for general use, also held by the BFI)
This print wil only be hired out for extremely special uses.
Colour has faded and reel 2 has some clicks evident on Centre and Surround channels.

Many hand made cues even though the original green ones are still there.

WESTSIDE STORY does not have an overture but does all existing prints have the intermission and exit music?

My print didn't have an intermission or exit music... but it starts off with about 6 minutes of music with a color changing background depicting an abstract illustration of the city.

70mm print #1009 screened by me at the Aero Theater, Santa Monica, on the evening of May 24, 2014.
Aspect ratio = 2.2:1
Audio = DTS
Distributor = Park Circus
TRT = 156 minutes including intermission music
12 shipping cases containing 11 reels. All except 6 are doubled-up As and Bs. 6A and 6B are on separate reels with an intermission at the end of 6A. The overture plays against an animation, but the walk-in music after the intermission is against black footage (around 2.5 minutes).
This is a polyester print on 2009 stock, in very good condition apart from some slight dirt and sparkle at the starts and ends where the print has been made up onto longer roll(s). The pattern of splices on the starts and ends is consistent with plattering. This print came with three sets of DTS discs - a 5.1 channel mix and a 6.0 channel (five stage channels plus one surround) one on two CDs, plus the six-channel mix on a single DVD-ROM for ingestion into an XD-10 or 11. All are on -R (consumer-burnt) media. I ingested the DVD and it went in without a problem.
Note: some of the reels (even the A+B combos) are pretty short (12-13 minutes), meaning that a changeover show is a bit of a hustle to rewind, clean and re-thread on some of them. Perfectly do-able if you're focused and organized, though.
