What I know:

Warner Brothers archives (complete with misspelled warning to send this acetate print back head-out)
6 reels
flat hard-matted 1.85:1

Question: did this film have double-inventory prints? We got a mono print (reel bands said mono, head says mono, soundtracks look identical). But this film got a 70mm blowup and was one of the first films in SR. I know there were some mono/A and A/SR double-inventories, but hadn't expected a mono print of an SR film. Maybe a triple-inventory?

Technicolor Holywood lab did strike double-inventory (mono/stereo) 35mm prints until the early 90's.

'Innerspace' 35mm prints would be either mono or SR. I would guess that the 70mm prints were SR only (assuming most of the houses that would be playing the film in 70mm would have likely upgraded for SR) Whether A-type 35 prints were also struck is unknown, as SR was supposed to be 'backards compatible' with processors that had only A-type NR (the reverse isn't the case however, A played thru SR hardware sounds horrible)

The Edwards Big Newport ran InnerSpace in 70mm. As far as is known, they were equipped with Dolby A only, no SR. Michael Coate can probably confirm. I saw the film there, don't recall noticing anything "odd" about the sound.

I don't know if or when the Big Newport upgraded to SR. I'm also unsure if any SR prints of Innerspace were the 35s or the 70s, or both.

I saw the movie a couple times in both 35mm and 70mm. Never handled a print, though, and I don't recall any newspaper advertisements noting anything about SR. (The first time I noticed anything about the title being in SR was seeing the SR logo in the film's end credits. The funny thing is RoboCop is usually identified as the official debut feature with SR prints, but Innerspace and Star Trek IV were released prior to it.) So, sorry, can't help in this case.

Anyone out there handle a print?
