Hello all. Requesting information for Jurassic Park. I figured most if not all prints had DTS, but did any ever have SRD or SDDS? Thanks.

Both JP and Lost World: JPII were DTS/DTS 'SR' only.
JP also was available in both the standard discrete 6-channel DTS and the 'matrixed' 4-channel DTS (the reason there is a connection on the back of the DTS-6 for 'Stereo Out')
JPIII had all the formats, however.

Jurassic Park (the original) had an A analog soundtrack, not SR. The analog track sounds like ass. (Some felt that was done intentionally, who knows.)
Note that the dts logo was attached to the beginning of the feature and is NOT the same "flying disc" version that has been shipping loose for the last 10 years. Unless you have a copy that has the disc flying around, then ends without the dts logo, it will not play with the Jurassic Park discs.
Further note, this being the first dts release, if you stop the show mid-reel, don't expect for the dts to kick back in! It needs to see leader to tell it to start playing the discs.

prints were triacetate based prints. Be aware there could be a lot of damage to sprockets and many splices if film was done wrong. I know the movie ran around 120mins. but for some reason I keep thinking it was 7 reels but it could be 6 as Arron stated.

This is SEVEN reels, not six.
Uni's print #2 (via Deluxe/FilmTreat West, aka ICS) was struck on 2004-datecoded Kodak 2383 polyester, and appears to be uncut and near flawless.
DTS "Flying Disc" (#1045) is attached.

This seems to be not entirely true. Our discs arrived chasing the print today (original pressed ones, not CDRs! I'm impressed!), so we didn't get a chance to evaluate DTS for our QC screening. But tonight we had all sorts of problems getting DTS to work right for R1, and ultimately it kicked in midway through the reel. It was fine for all other reels, however.
(We're sort of puzzled about the problem, since running R2->R1 yields a working start of R1, but running trailers -> R1 gives this problem. And then there's the DTS-CSS display reporting that the current reel was R14 (!). Followups in another forum, though, please.)

Humm... The initial prints have SN 1003 during the DTS trailer. For this film (and for "Heart and Souls" too), it was the 'short' flying disc trailer, encoded as SN 1003 R1. I have the snipe from a "Heart and Souls" print, which GCC had us cut off when we moved the film to a non DTS house.
If reprints of the feaure have an actual SN 1045 trailer printed on (which would be R14), the flying disc audio will not play in DTS as Brad said earlier - from the original discs. Plus I don't think you can use the DTS trailer discs with the original discs either.
If you have an updated set of discs (which allow the use on an XD10), things may be different.

Original dts discs will not play on an XD10. You have to have a re-authored set. Same for Heart and Souls.

Universal made additional prints of Jurassic Park some time in late 1993 or early 1994. The Dolby and DTS logos on the end credits are different. The Dolby tri-format logo was used along with a screwed up looking version of "The Digital Experience" logo. The DVD has those same screwed up logos on the end credits.
