They assume that Scott Norwood will ALWAYS have "Changeovers Done Right", and never show leader on the screen.

Maybe being a transfer from video, the negative cutter was not familiar with the proper location of the Control Frames (specified in SMPTE 301M)

We have two prints of Winged Migration and the LAD girl only appears for three frames in the appropriate place. Perhaps only the EK prints have the leaders done right?

No DTS discs with either print here. Also told that another exhibitor across town did not receive discs either.

winged migration has been renamed for australian audiences
it is called TRAVELLING BIRDS in australia
the prints are exactly the same as the american prints, the only diffrence is that there is a black tag with a white TRAVELLING BIRDS title attached to the front of the feature.
it's the same with the trailers!
HOPSCOTCH is the australian distributer.

I just ran another print of this today; this one did have the DTS disks. Perhaps there was a second print run, as this print was apparently new (the leaders were not cut).

FTR, this film was shot on 35mm, Jacques Perrin has stated this in several interviews. Also, some artifacts from the physical hard-matte are visible on the right side of the frame on certain scenes (either dirt or an unevenly cut plate).

Suggest running with 1.66 plates (unless you have 1.75 plates) and masking down. In a few places, 1.85 will clip off a wing, while 1.75 will keep an entire formation of birds in frame.
