Cues: Typical emulsion Clint etched cues all over the place. Where there were 10 in a row, I applied line strip over them. A black matte on the edge of the picture is better than dancing white circles.
Scratches --
Base....... Moderate -- mostly black lines come and go
Emulsion... Slight
Leader Splices: No ID frames but double-sided leader joints
Body Splices/Continuity: Very few splices/No continuity jumps
Physical Condition --
Overall Condition: [B] (WB's print score)
Dispite obvious frame loss at leader joints, no apparent loss of dialogue or continuity (but that won't last much longer).
MPAA Rating Band: None
Attached Trailers: None
Special Notes --
1) Serious (and bizarre) problem with emulsion. It will peel off the base if you try to remove any splicing tape. If something isn't done to stop this problem, the print will quickly become junk. Each time it is plattered or LPed, a frame or two will have to be lost because pulling off the tape will pull the emulsion off with it. In this one instance, laziness will probably save frames. If cuts are made on the existing joint and splicing tape is applied over the old tape without removing it, that may save the frame.
Distributor should try to remedy this, but it's Criterion. Enuf said.
