Continuity: Poor -- Dialogue missing at many of the splices

Physical Condition --
Overall: U (WB's print score -- Underbelly, one step away from JUNK)

Print is filthy. I did not have enough time to do any serious cleaning other than removing gobs of adheasive. If this print were properly cleaned it might edge up half or even a full grade point score.

R3 was wound so tight but with folds in the film so that in a number of places three or four frames are bunched up so tightly that they look corrigated. I pressed them out as best I could; they ran through but with a lot of on-screen jerkiness. Seems someone put oil on these sections thinking it would help pass the damage through the projector. The oil should be cleaned because it has become more sticky than slick. I had no time to do all the things necessary to restore this print as it could be.

Print has sprocket gouges down the center of all but one reel (sprockets did not actually puncture the base). Luckily they are on the base side and do not show on the screen, but they cause the film to crease slightly in the center and this may adversely affect focus in some short throw/large screen houses. Evidently the film ran almost its entire length with a jumped sprocket riding right down its center and no one noticed.

MPAA Rating Band: Not rated

Special Notes --

1) Negative flashes as often found on prints of this era. 2.39 will eliminate these.

2) Soundtrack is volume is lower than normal. You may have to set the fader 1.5 to 2 full points up from Dolby 7 reference. R3 is from another print and has a Variable Area track. The sound timbre and volume change quite noticably on this reel. You will need to drop level back down to normal volume for this reel and then back up again for R4.

3) Color shift to Green, probably due to color correction to get skin colors right because of faded negative. Skin tones do look OK.
