ok, here goes. i have not handled this, but will try to help. what i know is that it is 5 reels, flat, runs about 1:24.

as for the aspect ratio, well.... local theaters ran it in 1:1.85, 1:1.66, or 1:1.37 according to their abilities. i saw it 1:1.37. some of the shorts did use this whole frame. others were hard-matted to ~1.85 or ~2.39, and some were further windowboxed down to 1.37 within what would have been the 1.85 frame (i.e. a wide black band around the whole image). my take on this is that allowances were made for the inevitable 1.85 shows where it was essential that the whole image be seen, but really it should be shown 1.37 (academy). it's my understanding that animation isn't usually carried out beyond the intended frame. also, trailers for the animation show were windowboxed to 1.37, even so that clips of the 1.85 portions were further letterboxed (1.85-in-1.37-in-1.85 -- the compromise format from hell!) if that makes any sense.

i'd love to know if the leaders said anything about aspect ratio, or if there was a note in the cans.
