I'd like to request info for Rodrigo García's NINE LIVES. Should be arriving here today or tomorrow, but I'd like to know what I'm in for.

It left us a month or so ago... But I remember it fairly well.

NINE LIVES (2005)
Flat 1.85, hard matte if I recall
SR.D magenta. If it had DTS, we could not get the disks.
9 reels, all fairly short. One for each subject.
Running time approx. 2hrs.
came TES
from "Magnolia" entertainment in NYC

The important thing is this: there is a fade out at every reel change. There was a note in our can with instructions to leave the 20 frames of black after the last c/o cue. The print I got had them cut already. We had to platter it. I restored the black tails to the end of each reel as per the instructions, and cut in the normal place. Watching it thru, there is VERY disruptive sound bleed between sections if you do it this way. You will hear the start of each reel twice, every reel change.
If you're doing reel-reel, I'd reccomend leaving the black in. Running off a platter, it is highly reccomended you remove them.
Good luck.
