The credits start at the end of Reel 6 and continue throughout Reel 7. This is VERY annoying, as the tail of Reel 6 and the head of Reel 7 are pitch black with no "splice here" markers! So you have to count from the lab splice, which is what I did, in order to get the cuts correct.
The movie could've easily fit on 6 reels too!

I think you meant to say count from the changeover cues. There should be 18 frames of black after the last frame with a changeover cue on it. The head leader of reel 7 should be cut 45 frames after the "3" on the countdown.
Unfortunately that will only get you close. I ended up having to cut 19 frames after the changeover cue on reel 6 because that is what it took to make the soundtrack perfectly match up.

I counted & cut from the squiggly neon blue line, which I have always understood is the lab splice. Whatever it was, it was in frame.
Nonetheless, it still pisses me off that they can't put "splice here" indicators or have white frame lines or something. A fair amount of time would be saved.

I have to agree as well, Jake. Since I got two prints of the film, it would have saved me time as well.
