flat/1.66 (hard matte)

the print that I got (00006, supposedly the only one in the Disney inventory) is a mix of two prints--R5 is faded Eastmancolor with a mono track; the rest is LPP with a Dolby A track from a 1989 reissue (according to the leaders); if you play the whole thing in mono (as I did), there is a singnificant fader change for R5

overall condition is actually OK, but the color shifts annoyingly from reel to reel and scene to scene (and not just the faded reel, either); also, the first four reels are starting to suffer from VS and have some warpage

Original First Run prints were IB Technicolor and 4-Track Magnetic Stereo.

Has anyone shown a DCP of this? I'm showing it tomorrow at 3pm, and my key unlocks it at 1pm. The movie info indicates it's in academy and the drive says it's flat. So what I'm wondering is, is it going to look right if I shoot it in flat? By 1pm I'm going to be busy getting ready to sell concessions! (Wow, thanks Swank/Disney! Way to look out for the people showing your product.)

It shouldn't be Academy, as the 35mm prints are hard matted to about 1.66:1. The only way to get Academy from that would be to do a pan-and-scan version, which I hope is not what they did. It looks too tight when projected at 1.85 (I tried it). I would hope that the DCP would be a 1.85 frame with the image pillarboxed to 1.66, but who knows.

The original pressbook claims the AR is 1.75-1. We're running the Disney/Swank 35mm in April so I'll report back.
