*Note: By all accounts, this movie was originally anamorphic 2.35. However, this particular print is cropped for spherical lens projection. Looks like this will end up being 1.37 or (at best) 1.66.

Jeez, that's pathetic -- 1.37? OMG! It was a 'Scope, Technicolor show, originally.

Coincidentally, we just ran it tonight and showed it via the commercial BD. We do have access to -- but decided not to use -- an original 'Scope IB print from an archive here in town, but it's really kind of scratchy (etc.); honestly, the BD looks quite similar to an IB print, and minus the scratches and splices.

Audio is mono, and just slightly harsh, but o/w it was a nice looking presentation.

[Coincidentally, we actually had a few folks at the boxoffice tonight complain because it was **not** a print, but you have to wonder about their perception of "quality", really. The archive print is old and shows plenty of evidence of the many years of existence. C'mon, it simply doesn't look "good" any more, and yet these folks are fussing because the show isn't "film". And a 1.37 version? A total joke. Can't believe WB would even dare circulate it that way! A TV print? Sheeeesh, get a grip, folks -- the film prints look for sh*t, either they're cropped to a totally different aspect ratio, or they're scratched to oblivion. How are those preferable viewing experiences? Oh, excuse me ... there I go again, trying to offer a superior presentation, and yet not be stuck in the past as a "slave to film".]
