On the other hand...
I think all directors and writers should watch all the movies ever made before they had bosoms in them to see how they made movies without them. Not that I minded seeing Carrie-Anne Moss's. They should also try to learn how to create sexual tension betweeen a man and a woman with out blatant sex scenes. Not that there were any in this picture.
The other notable problem with this film is that it was not tied together very well. There seemed to be about 3 movies going on here. The guys on the planet, Carrie-Anne Moss on the space ship, and a dog type robot gone nuts that wandered in and out of the film as if from a neighboring movie. This last robot thing could have been done without very easily and was really not much more than eye candy ( as if you needed more with Carrie-Anne Moss around).
I suggest they take it back to the editing room and work on the Val Kilmer-Carrie-Anne Moss relationship and get rid of the dogbot.
It was in scope and had nice Dolby digital effects. Nice spfx and physical effects.
I recommend it.
