I saw this tonight and I though it was pretty funny. I decided to see it after reading a review where the author basically stated that it was the "only good sequel of the summer" I have to agree that it was good. Not as good as the first but it had me laughing. Also the plot wasnt bad either, I think it would have worked just as well as a stand alone crime drama type of movie. All I have to say never let Chris Tucker near a craps table.

You're right, as sequels go it was good but not as good as the first. I got some good laughs and always enjoy Jackie Chan's stunts... he and Chris Tucker make a pretty good team.

If you're looking to get into an air conditioned theatre to beat the heat for a while, you might as well have a good time to boot.

Seeing this a couple of weeks ago with about twenty other employees after hours was completely great. I can't remember one minute where I wanted a scene to be over with, but with the pacing of the action scenes, I really didn't mind when they did go forward!

I don't think Jackie Chan should switch to taking only English roles (face it, "Police Story" & "Who am I" are unbeatable action thrillers), but him & Chris Tucker are a great pairing.

This one was one of the best "explosion movies" to see with a good sound system. Our 450 seat THX/Dolby Digital system was really pushing out the bass with this one, not to mention testing the horns with every line of Chris Tucker's Voice...

Not a movie with great depth or socially redeeming value, but thoroughly entertaining and funny. A must see if you have a limited choice of movies to see this summer.

I still don't understand how Jackie Chan can still be alive today. With like a $67M opening, Jackie has got to be Mr. Showbiz in Hollywood today.

Good movie, worth seeing!!! I haven't decided whether i like the first of the second better, but definitely a go see. Funny, lotts of action, all around good movie.

Attendance: Coburg Drive-in Theatre (Screen 1) Friday 28 September 2001

The Screen 1 ramps were fully packed tonight for this sequel. If this is indicative of cinemas around Australia then this film will be well attended.

It was great to see this film shot on Hong Kong. It was as much fun recognising many of the landmarks (eg Aberdeen) as anything else. Ditto for Las Vegas.

The film had some great stunts and the plot was good. Whilst not as good as many of Jackie Chan's Hong Kong movies (see Police Story III as an example - awesome stunts) the banter between Tucker and Chan makes up for that.

A good sequel. Go see it.

I saw "Rush Hour 2" a few weeks ago when I was up in Colorado visiting relatives. I saw it a brand new Cinemark theater with very surprisingly tasteful decoration that seemed like a retro-post-modern kind of thing --anyway, the place looked MUCH better than the typical tacky Cinemark build. This theater in Colorado Springs also has an IMAX-3D theater.

As for "Rush Hour 2" I really wish the projection and sound were better. The picture was not as bright as it should have been and the sound was just not good at all. It sounded like the theater's subwoofers were not working at all, and I could barely hear the split surround activity from the DTS track. Very badly tuned sound.

The movie itself was pretty funny. I still liked the first one more, but this sequel had enough laughs and action to still be pretty fun. Apparently New Line Cinema is going to release "Rush Hour 2" as an Infinifilm DVD complete with specially mastered Dolby Digital Surround EX 5.1 and DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete audio tracks. I guess I'll rent the DVD when it comes out and have a better idea of what the movie should have sounded like.
