I guess I went into this movie thinking it was going to be amazing, probably b/c I enjoyed the Trailer so much; needless to say I was a bit dissappointed.

Great story, good idea....but somewhere along the lines it got too long. Tom Hanks did a great job (anyone remember this accent from SNL?) and Catherine Zeta Jones was decent.

I'm guessing that Spielberg did this on purpose, but the white lights in the film looked terrible (again, probably to add effect) and it really started to bother me. Kill Bill was a movie that used it to its advantage, but this film too it too far.

All in all, I give it 3.5 out of 5

Hmmm...if you are talking about the lights in the fountain, I'm not sure where the light was coming from but I thought it looked really nice, of course that was on a properly lit and newly cleaned screen.

That was a nice effect, but the whole movie just seemed too fluffy or something like that...

And I'm guessing we have the same equipment and screens (just cleaned) as you do judging by your shirt [Big Grin]

I really wasn't expecting to like this. I didn't care for Spielberg's last comedy, "Catch Me If You Can". This had heart. It reminded me at times of Charlie Chaplin and other times of a Blake Edward's type of film. All the cast was great, but I thought Stanley Tucci's character was really the most believable. I agree, it seemed a little long and some of the lighting, filtering were overdone. Overall, I'd give it at least 3 out of 4 stars. [thumbsup]

I liked it alot and in the scenes where the light was used, I saw it as artistry. This film was amazing. I have always been a fan of Spielberg's work and this was no exception. The plot line worked out perfectly. I just can't see Stanley Tucci as much of a bad guy anymore since I saw the preview for "Shall We Dance".

This film has comedy, drama, romance and gives you a warm feeling inside at the end.

4/5 stars

I enjoyed it. I seem to always expect more from Steven... But I guess he did well. Tom Hanks is awesome as always.

Kudos for originality, and there were some good laughs. But the movie had this slightly cheesy "love wins over all" mantra that was a bit annoying. I liked Catch Me If You Can better, but the script and the dialogue were still great overall. I'd give the movie a 4/5.

The lighting reminded me of "Road to Perdition," it was similar but used for different reasons.

Tom Hanks always makes me forget I'm watching Tom Hanks. He's about the only superstar actor who is that good.
