I think they may have outdone themselves.

1. The version I saw for the sneak on 10/9/04 may have been the one they proposed to the MPAA because it had the puppet sex scene.

2. Incredible puppetry work.

3. There were parts that may be gross. Including a lengthy puking scene that may cause your audience to lose it.

4. Some blood / guts that may disturb others.

So, overall 3 out of 5. I would strongly suggest that you have your staff card to enforce the rating. Strong use of language, strong use of body part words such as "C**K, S**T, PU**Y, A**HOLE".

I thought it was funny but nowhere as good as thier first movie, Orgazmo.
Seems they had fun busting on everyone, especially actors

This version you saw is actually the version everyone will see. The original had a two minute puppet sex scene, this was cut to 30 seconds to avoid the nc17 banner.

I give this movie my award for funniest movie of the year. Without spoiling too much, it was very refreshing to see all sides attacked for what they really are. It was a blast, i will be seeing this again. Damn funny film.

Damn funny movie. The sex scene left me laughing for a good 5 minutes. And actually, the sound effects actually came alive for a movie of this nature....

Once again, this team of perverted filmmakers has succeeded in out-doing themselves!

While "BASEketball" and "Terror Firmer" were OK funny, not since "Orgazmo" have these uninhibited guys released a funnier and shocking film that spares no group as this film!

Although I highly doubt Phil has seen this movie yet, I found it nowhere near as good as Orgazmo or Southpark, both of which earned a solid 5 out of 5. However Team America IS entertaining, some parts moreso than others. I wish the movie would've been a musical like Southpark was, because every time the show kicked into a song, it got laugh out loud funny. My personal favorite is the Pearl Harbor song.

Be sure and stay TO THE END of the credits! There are some additional lyrics to the Pearl Harbor song as well as a new song.

3.5 out of 5

For those of you who will be playing this movie at your multiplex, be sure and place it next to some kid movies. Trey Parker clearly designed the end credits to have maximum effect when placed in a complex next to kiddie fare. Just listen to the first minute of the end credits (when people will be exiting the doors and the music will be bleeding into the auditoriums and lobby) and you will see what I mean.

I don't understand how a puppet movie could possibly ever get an NC-17 rating. I mean, they're puppets! It's like watching two blocks of wood have sex. Big deal! I haven't seen this yet, but I hope it doesn't get extremely boring like the second half of the South Park movie did when they introduced that French kid who was the lamest character ever, along with the boring Saddam and Satan scenes.

Oh, the wooden puppets do have sex, but it's not that. Personally I think the blow job scene was edited to remove "facial evidence". It didn't flow right. The MPAA must've made them cut part of that out.

I like this movie, and I would actually not mind paying to see it. A couple of times. I'm not sure that it offends everyone... I wasn't offended at all, but maybe I missed something.

My one complaint is that these guys have to grow up just a tad. They're funny without the un-necessary language and stuff that's over the top. For some people, that's the only talent they have, and that's fine for them. You can make money with potty humor and cheap repetition of language like that. But these guys clearly don't have to do that, because they're funny on so many other levels. While it is their right to resort to the sophmoric humor, I think they can just be sooo much more successful and reach a much broader audience if they toned it down a bit. Don't get me wrong. I did just say that I don't think anything in the movie offended me. The excessive language didn't offend me. But when the characters say "Jesus T---y F---ing Christ," that sounds to me like the writers were reaching for something that would get a reaction out of the viewers. My only reaction was that it sucked me out of the movie.

I have so much more that I could say about this movie, but it would start to take things in a political direction, and I really don't want to do that. But I will say that I enjoyed the movie a lot, especially the sound track! I will sit down and watch it again. Especially with a crowd, it should be an absolute blast!

Hehehe... just got home after seeing it. All I can say is its nice that someone has the guts to come out and say what is on everybodys mind. The Kim song was the best, sex scene a little useless.

The scene where gary says "I cant promise not to die" and than when she says she will sleep with him if he will and he says "I promise i wont die" is classic. Much like the "terrorize THIS!" and "I got my pass - RIGHT HERE!". the 'panthers' and sharks were sweet. NO IDEA marionettes could do that.

Please note, that HERE is an eBay seller that will apparently supply anyone with a "screener" copy of this film. GOD FORBID Jacko and his boys and/or eBay should catch on to this scam.

Also, PLEASE NOTE: That copy offer is NOT from any of my screener DVDs. Contrary to my (Halloween joke) ID pic, I DO NOT pirate anything. I earn my living in Hollywood/film from the talents and expertise I have and would NOT jeopardize that for ANYONE!

Besides, each screener DVD I receive is uniquely encrypted with a code that ya gotta have a "Flash Gordon Decoder Ring" to see.

I ***HAVE*** to return my DVDs within a couple of weeks else I will be 86'd!

The first half of the movie had some very funny parts, even my fiance, whom I had to drag to see it, got a good laugh. The second half, well...it just could have inlcuded the Kim song and maybe the one or two other funny parts and it would have been ok. I thought some of the people in the theater were going to actually puke when Gary was doing his projectile scene.

Humm, I couldn't wait to see this movie when I first heard about it, but after reading some of your reviews, and especially the "memorable quotes" on IMDB, I'm thinking... and this is funny, why? Just because they're using four-letter words? Saying vile things? Really?

If that's all it takes to champion audiences these days, then Hollywood, here I come! But I think I'll pass on this picture. Swear words for the sake of swear words... I need something a little more substantial in my entertainment.

Tim, don't let the language stop you from seeing this. Language is just the blunt instrument of choice in the hands of these directors, who use it to inflict trauma upon every institution in sight. Nothing is sacred here and almost nothing is held back, save for the cuts needed to save this pic's R rating. If the bad words are all anyone's getting out of this, they're not paying attention.

JFC & holy shit, Tim! I think Las Vegas Paul put it best...

Even though I have the vocabulary to use "other" words in conveying SOME of my meanings, I choose to use swear, curse, and "crude" words cuz I just ***LIKE*** the way they sound.

Also sometimes, one just cannot find the correct non-naughty word to express how one REALLY feels about something.

BTW: About the film... Go SEE IT! It's a hoot!

All in all, a pretty funny film although a bit slow in parts.

The sex scene was pretty funny, as others described. The others in my audience seemed to enjoy it. I heard them laughing during many parts, even the famed scene.. )

Laughed my ass off, and then procedded to get a BJ by the guy sitting next to me. Only kidding, it wasn't funny..uhm...I mean about the bj. Kinda funny that the didn't re-shoot the scene with the motorcycle getting knocked over by the cameraman!It must have been a pain in the ass to film puppets.

This was funny as hell, though not as intelligent as South Park. As a fun throwaway "popcorn movie," it's one of the best I've seen. For social commentary, South Park would be a better film to watch.

Wathched the sneak in Seattle with my 3 daughters (full house - 250 or so). Crowd enthusiasm added a lot to the experience.

3 weeks later... took my wife to a local house to see it. Saturday nite, 7pm show... only about 24 in the room. Except for some of the really 'over the top' stuff (like the sex scene), the crowd was very... VERY quiet.

First time I've ever experienced such a dramatic difference. Very wierd.

Ive always thought that comediies play better with a crowd. When we got Stripes at the theatre I was working at we watched after work on the Thursday before it opened. None of the 10 of us thought it was that funny. But some friends wanted to see it on a Saturday night and with over 400 people it was a completely different movie. Now I try to see comedies the week they open.

And, Phil, from you they work! Yeah, and I also use rough words sometimes -- specially if I'm peed off -- but, if I had a screenplay to write, I could damn well come up with language that would use just the right phrases to move the story... without cursing!

You explained yourself with your last post what the point of the swear words is. As long as these have the potential to provoke people, they have an "expressive" value, so they aren't there just for their own sake, but to stimulate a response. Like yours. You go on and on about it. They must have hit a nerve.
