After many months watching these forums I thought it time to finally post and put it my two cents. What better way than a film review. It is unfortunate however that it couldn't have been something a tad better than XXX 2 - The Next Level.
I must admit that I haven't seen the first one (didn't like Diesel's comments about Bond being old fashioned), but going off reports of it, I can say that this probably isn't much different. Leave your brain at the door fair, you know. Lot's of eye candy, decent action scenes and Ice Cube is more cardboard than Keanu (is that possible?) except for the scene

when he talks like a southern reverand, didn't know his voice had that sort of frequency range...

You yanks let us know what you think when you finally get this he he he...

Title here is XXX: State of the Union. Can't say I've seen it yet, but I enjoyed the first flick greatly. I guess all my post is good for is search bait.

Could this movie suck ass any harder? By the time you get to the animated train sequence, you will certainly agree that this is perhaps the most generic formula overdone with terribly fake cgi effects piece of shit Hollywood has put out to date.

Not even Ice Cube could save this turd. Yes I said Ice Cube, the bestest of the best actor ever to live! ICE CUBE COULDN'T EVEN SAVE IT!!!

Well, Brad, apparently it COULD suck harder, since it somehow earned half a star. There's a good five-tenths of working area there.

(By the way, it appears you hit the 10000 posts mark with that one ... congratulations! )

It got a half star because some of it was so pathetically "groaning" bad the friend I was watching it with was groaning at the same times and THAT was funny which created a smile...something fabulous movies such as Anchorman couldn't accomplish.

Yes, yes! I totally agree. Sometimes that it's-SO-bad-it's-funny element makes the experience of the movie better, and not the movie itself. I, however, have no desire to see this movie, bad CGI train sequence or not. Didn't have any desire to see the first one either.

This movie just plain sucks. Like Brad said, the only redeeming quality it had was that it gives tons of things to make fun of.(sorry to end w/preposition) The only thing I will remember from this film is all the great parody lines that we came up with while watching it. This could be the basis for the new film-tech parody movie series "Shitty Movie"

I don't know what to think about this film...its no where near being a great film, but I also don't think it sucked as bad as you guys are saying. It's nothing more then an early summer popcorn movie. Thats all, nothing more and nothing less. The script wasn't written to appeal to the Harvard crowd. But it had its moments, few...but they were there.

I give it out of

If your looking for some explosions, action, and not having to think real hard. Then you will probably enjoy this.

I'm sorry, but I just can't believe this. We are speaking of the same legendary Ice Cube, aren't we? Even if it was a movie about counting pebbles, I'm sure Ice Cube could make it a hit. He is Ice Cube, after all. Please rethink your position on this.

Yes indeed, we are thinking of the same legendary Ice Cube, a man who up until this feature was credited to creating nothing but the best movies ever, and is far above and beyond all of the other actors on the planet...even Alec Baldwin!

I really don't know what went wrong.

The SAME Ice Cube that doesn't win an Oscar each year because there is a rule that he can only get one statue for each nomination, and therefore it would be unfair to even nominate him?

Worse than the train itself was the truck losing its tires and then clinging to the rails as if the vehicle was being drawn magically to the rails.

This was a total waste of film. But it does have a high Greco factor, so it gets 1/2 out of 5 from me.

Just over 13 mil on first weekend makes this...

The first flop of Summer 2005!

Congratulations, Ice Cube! (At least this assures there probably won't be a XXX3.)
