I am told this movie is like "City of Angels", but having never seen it, I cannot compare. What I can compare this movie to is "Heart and Souls", as indeed many parts of this shitty movie was stolen from that great movie.
So yeah, this movie sucks. It's not "unwatchable suck", but more like "lame suck". Reese Witherspoon is annoyingly tight and bitchy. The guy is just retarded (I'm pretty sure in real life). The script is boring. There is nothing interesting visually. The soundtrack is nothing to write home about. Blah, blah, blah best describes this movie.
1.5 out of 5 stars
SPOILER ALERT - Did anyone NOT predict that he would have to touch her hand for her to remember? LAME!!!

Very predictable film I agree. Two stars out of four for me, a bit better rating, but not by much.
Brad, if you liked Heart and Souls, one of the better films ever made, City of Angels is kind of along those lines, but more morose and less candid. Really enjoyable, but on a very chick flick kind of level.
Ciao

Pretty good romantic comedy. I enjoyed Reese's performance, but I usually enjoy her movies (except Legally Blond 2, what a piece of crap that was). Jon "Napoleon Dynamite" Heder added the touch that made this a cut above the usual romantic comedy.
The story went differently than I thought it would. I thought she would eventually realize she had to die and would somehow steer Ruffalo to some other girl, and the conflict would be how he could let go of Reese and find love with the other girl. Or something like that. (or is that a different movie that I'm subconsiously channeling?)
Anyway, 3.5 out of 5.

CINEMA: Century 20 at Jordan Creek, West Des Moines, IA
AUDITORIUM: 19
PRESENTATION: Dolby Digital/THX
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None
RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)
NOTE: This rating was increased by one half star for giving Jon Heder a meaningful paycheck
I've been sitting on a few movies for the express purpose of acheiving a goal...seeing at least one movie in every auditorium in the building. Six to go.
Guy who takes tickets says "Auditorium 19 is down the right entry, then go right, then right again. If you need any snacks, the concession stand is available right here (pointing at the main snack bar)."
That's more information than I usually get. As I pass the satellite snack bar, I discover why...It's closed. That's never happened before. No big deal, but...weird in this building.
This movie may very well encompass every bad chick flick cliche there is. This includes: A girl sitting in a spectacular garden like a princess, a car wreck we don't actually get to see (and therefore enjoy), a music score more annoying than supermarket muzak, a guy turning down a slutty naked chick in his bedroom, an overly evil male that every woman stereotypes every male as the second the relationship doesn't go exactly the way they've envisioned every relationship should go since they were seven, and an eclectic book store.
My best friend Jennifer will consider this to be one of the greatest movies ever made.
