PRESENTATION: 35mm/Dolby Digital
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: Incorrect lens dialed in, audio remained set to video pre-show (took a complaint run, but fixed before Dolby "Stomp" trailer)
RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)

WARNING: "Hello. My name is Frank, and I'm an alcaspoiler." "Hi Frank."

Seriously. The cyan audio track was playing on the left side wall. They never did bother to properly frame it after fixing the lens, but at least it was watchable.

The theatre made up for it by having a bowl of chili on their snack bar menu. Sure it was some generic industrial canned chili, but I don't care. That's the best kind.

Frank Falenczyk is a drunk and a contract killer, which doesn't always mix very well. The family sends him to San Francisco to dry out. Frank ends up prepping bodies for show at a funeral home and picks up Laurel Pearson (Tea Leoni) at her dad's funeral. A dark romantic comedy ensues. Naturally, the bad guy is played by Dennis Farina, America's favorite dopey mob guy.

It's watchable. It gets some laughs. Kingsley and Leoni are great. And the chili wasn't bad either.

Film looked and sounded just fine at AMC Lennox 24 in Columbus.

This is a very, very dark comedy movie, with a great performance by Ben Kingsley and a very good performance by Tea Leoni. A very good script well performed. Looked like the actors had a good time with this one.

Well worth checking out if you get a chance.

I screened this one last Thursday night after building this and Captivity up. I had wanted to see this one and had no desire to see the other one.

I've really liked Ben Kingsley in his latest roles. This one was no diffrent. I find that he does the dark comedy great, just good timeing. Bill Pullman(sp) is leaving something to be desired as of late. His character really had no point. He makes a threat towards the end of the film. Then his whole story line is abandonded.

Other then that I loved the movie and suggest it to any customer that isn't sure what to see.

Saw this at the only screen in town playing it, at the Regal Village Square.

Enjoyed it. I think I could derive a great deal of satisfaction out of being a contract killer. I think I could be good at it too, and without the need for booze to help compartmentalize what I do for a living. Hmmm, if the airline thing doesn't work out...

Weird focus issue with this presentation - the 'scope image was slightly popping in and out of focus, but only in the horizontal direction, about 2 or 3 times a second during the entire run time. Gate tension or hold-back tension in need of a checkup?
