Well this sucks, I had a review all written out and then I hit the backspace button and I went back and page and lost everything. I'm not going to write it all out again, so here you go. The Cliff notes version.

Peter Berg brings to the screen a well acted and well directed film. Jamie Foxx commands the screen as FBI agent Ronald Fluery. Along side him is an all-star cast of actors. Chris Cooper, Jeremy Piven, Jennifer Garner, and the ever funny Jason Bateman. Of all the actors in this film the strongest performance comes from the relative newcomer Ali Suliman as Sgt. Haytham.

Kingdom starts off a little slow but gradually builds up momentum, ending in a feverish 30 min room to room battle. This is a great way to end the summer and start the fall season. This will really work the sound system of any theater.

I was going to write this earlier, but I forgot....

Oscar-quality movie with all the required violence and sensitivity of a really good mystery/action/politics flick.

Like Syriana + Miami Vice + Lethal Weapon + United 93

I thought this was a great film. Highly entertaining and enjoyable to watch.

Today 11:30AM Regal 15 in Eugene, #13. Not in focus. Trailers played in digital sound, feature in analog, wasn't bad except there's a constant low-level "buzz" from the right-front channel in analog, fortunately masked most of the time except in quiet scenes. There were a few random scratches and sections with a lot of dirt.

I liked the movie, good performances all around. "CSI: Riyadh" isn't far off the mark. The action sequences were staged, photographed, and edited with excessive close-ups and in Shakey-Vision®. Good story, they keep it moving, not much opportunity for boredom. I give it 3.5 out of 5.
