As I am not at all satisfied with the current digital quality, my brother and I sought out a 35mm version of "Robin Hood". I was really surprised as the story takes place prior to the usual Robin and his merry men swinging through the trees and thwarting the Sheriff of Nottingham. Although there have been several sword and sandal type flicks lately, the storyline was engaging enough that the battle scenes were tolerable and plausible. I noticed only one problem... a picture flutter, either a bad print or a failing intermittent. I suspect the latter since the head projectionist at this theatre left a few months ago in fear of losing his job as the digital age overtakes. Projector maintenance has probably suffered since. But as to the movie, it was a good watch and certainly different from previous Robin Hood productions.

You mean the picture was moving left and right? It is a print issue probably. In regards to the movie I saw it last night. Ridley Scott's work always impresses me. I really liked the movie and I found finally a storyline which made justice to the legend of Robin Hood. The story was sentimentaly strong, I cannot say that acting was above great but it was very good. There were a lot of single liners and funny/drama/action moments. I saw it in glorifying 35mm with DTS sound and it beat the hell out of Digital.. He he he.. The plot was very intriguing and I loved the ending (don't consider it a spoiler) "This is How the Legend Begins"

Saw it a couple nights ago (in 35mm) and noticed picture flutter as well. I enjoyed it, much more than I thought I would. The final battle on the beach definitely had a lord of the rings feel to it.
