Today at Regal 15 in Eugene, #9, NEC 2K DLP + RealD XL 3D. No presentation issues except the usual relative 3D dimness.

The majority of the movie was boring to the point of making me sleepy. Megamind is the weakest animated feature of this type I've seen in a long time. Very few good laughs. Sorry but [thumbsdown] [sleep]

The good news is they now have the Regal Roller Coaster policy in DCI format so at least that rocked. [thumbsup] [Big Grin]

I screened it in 2D and enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought it was pretty funny overall.

There were lots of kids in the audience who seemed to get restless in certain stretches of the movie and there were few laugh-out-loud moments from the adults. I dunno. Maybe everyone was a little "off" from the time change. [Wink]

from what I've read this is Dreamworks first discrete 7.1 release.

I've heard nothing but good things about this movie, though it does appear to be kind of a rip off of Incredibles. Dreamworks is always kind of "me too" with their animation. Nobody can match Pixar. Dreamworks (and others) kind of remind me of cheap foreign knock-offs of real products.

Haven't watched this yet but I've listened to it from my office. The movie just sounds like a series of one-liners quite a bit of the time. But not hearing a lot of laughter out of the crowd here.

It's certainly not getting the unanimous "that was awesome!" reaction that we got from Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me.

I've seen this a couple times now. It really is the worst of the Animated stuff for the year so far. Its really not funny at all, has a couple of moments that got a chuckle, but no funny hahaha out loud moments. Space Dad might of been the best part for me. Also, they made Megamind look like a blue Neil Patrick Harris.

2/5 [thumbsup]

Ug. Does Neil Patrick Harris do Megamind's voice? That reminds me of that underwater Shark CGI movie from one of these non-Pixar shady animation places where Martin Scorsese provided one of the voices. They gave his fish huge-ass eyebrows just so you would know it was Martin Scorsese. Facepalm!

Megamind's voice is Will Ferrel.

Shows how much I've researched this movie. Granted it'd probably be far better with Neil Patrick Harris than Will Ferrel.

Whew! Thanks for saving me the hassle. The only thing worse than Will Ferrel's voice is Owen Wilson's voice.

I don't care too much for Will Farrell at all...but I'll watch Stranger Than Fiction any day of the week. Great, great movie.
