CINEMA: Cinemark Movies 12, Ames, IA
AUDITORIUM: 2
PRESENTATION: 35mm/Mystery Meat Digital
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None (the sound sucked, but that was by design)
RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)

Skeleton crew and serious lack of customers. They were selling tickets from the concession stand (a normal practice on weeknights, but I've never seen it done on a Saturday afternoon).

Pre-show ads included something that started with the line "The only thing better than getting concessions at the movies..." at which point I rolled my eyes and tuned out. I think it was for some sort of e-mail promotion. Random Guy in Auditorium shouts "Either way, it's a rip-off!"

THE PLOT: Fucking idiots doing fucking idiotic things. Wackiness ensues.

For a comedy...even a dark comedy...there were very few laughs for any of the maybe half dozen attendees. There were some moments I identified with from my own business trips where I've found myself in some bar or restaurant with co-workers and ass-kissing vendors drinking. Those are moments where I sit back and observe while thinking "What the fuck is wrong with you people."

Pretty much what I did here too.
