Both the wife and I thought this was a really good movie. Although the acting was kind of robotic at times. Specifically the delivery of the lines. The acting when the seals were out in the field was great. It was just the dialog and the back and forth. Particularly when there should have been some real emotion behind the lines, there just didn't seem like there was any ...or much.

I'm guessing this was shot on video. There were some moments when the resolution came through and also it sometimes looked like frames were jumping around. I'm not sure what the technical term for it is, but I have seen it before where it looks like about every 1/2 or 1/4 of a second, the frames jump backwards creating a really weird effect. It looks like the frames are going like this:

1 .. 2 .. 3 .. 4 .. 5 .. 6 .. 7 .. 8 .. 10 .. 9 .. 11 .. 12 ....

It really doesn't help when you're going for a seizure-cam look and then also have the frames jumping around like that.

But anyway, the content of the movie was great. It was a good story, and the seals were great when they were out doing their thing. Those guys are true professionals.

If you want a good action movie, and can get past the wooden emotions of the guys who aren't really trained actors, you should see it.

It was shot using the Canon series EOS 5D & 7D cameras. We had the production team in ours office last fall. When we did early screenings of the film in HDCAM-SR 4:4:4 .
