Dark Shadows: Definitely the weirdest movie that I've seen in quite some time.

I really like the look and the style of the movie. The music is great. The sets, the costumes and the special effects are wonderful. And hey, it's even got Alice Cooper in it.

I was a bit ambivalent about this movie when I sat down to watch it since vampire movies are really not my thing, and I'm still somewhat undecided about whether I like it or not. It's definitely not one of my favourite movies, but I wasn't bored watching it either.

RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)

Kind of sad to see the Mayan gutted (coming soon: additional screens), even though I only went there once or twice. I see a Mexican joint has gone into Spaghetti Mama's space. Will have to try that.

THE PLOT: A woman scorned can be a real witch. Wackiness ensues.

I know basically nothing of the television serial this was based off of, and I have a feeling Burton doesn't either. But as vampire love stories go, you could do far worse than this. Great sets and a nice soundtrack certainly don't hurt.

It's no Bram Stoker's Dracula, but I'd watch this again before any "Twilight" movie.

I couldn't stand the trailers - but the overall film was much better than I was expecting.
