Well I have to say I liked this one a lot more than I expected to. It's witty, never a dull moment, the animation is pretty good and the characters are fun.

Adam Sandler does a great job as Dracula. The role lets him indulge his love of doing a goofy voice without making it seem forced or dopey.

I guess my main criticism of this movie is that it might be a little too manic. I mean good grief, this thing never takes a breath. This is really the main hallmark of Pixar vs. every other animation studio: Pixar takes its time and lets things work; these other cartoons toss everything but the kitchen sink at you at breakneck speed and you don't have time to absorb anything.

The other thing I didn't like was the now-obligatory (also from every studio except Pixar, it seems) song'n'dance number at the end. This one is worse than most. The vocals are all "auto-tuned" and sound computer-generated, not genuine, which is dumb when you're supposed to be looking at a character singing. (A clear cover-up for inadequate vocalists.)

What am I griping for though? This is a kids' movie, and the kids are loving it. So purely from a capitalistic butts-in-the-seats approach, I give it a 4 out of 5. As a movie, I would have to go with a 2 or maybe 3.

my problem with the film is that a lot of the humour is geared toward the kids, as an adult it was grating and very forced. Andy Samberg as Jonathan though was funny. I thought the 3D was rather pointless and flat - the flying on the tables was fun and effective, but largely it just felt unnecessary.
