AUDITORIUM: 20
PRESENTATION: Dolby Digital Cinema 2K
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: Subwoofer leakage from Auditorium 19 is ridiculous
RATING: Two and one half stars (out of four)

The two new auditoriums put into the old Mayan space are open for business. This one is laid out EXACTLY like an old Cinemark Tinseltown auditorium. The front seats are on a slope. The wall-to-wall screen is up high. The side curtains are even purple.

It does have the new black leather seats, though. Except for the D-Box seats, which take up like half this room. And more than half in Auditorium 19, apparently.

THE PLOT: Bella's kid is misunderstood. Join the fucking club. Wackiness ensues.

I've only seen the first Twilight movie previously ("all the production values of Highlander: The Series") and didn't see the need to catch up. Just figured I'd watch the last one to see what happened.

So the leads got married and had a kid somewhere along the way. This is apparently a problem that could lead to a war. So after spending like 90 minutes of the movie brooding around the house (which is supposedly all that happened during all the other sequels leading up to this), there's a battle that doesn't really happen. The end.

What's really great in this movie are the opening and closing title sequences. They're really beautiful. That's the reason to see this.

The biggest question in my mind was "is this really the last installment of the series?" There sure was a lot of insinuation of a more than average relationship between Jacob and Renesemee in the future. Meyer's new book was said to include some alien action... could that include were-pire offspring? All joking aside, this was much better than part 1. They should have combined both parts. Part 1 was really, really slow... spelled "bad". Together they would have made a pretty decent two hour movie.

(The Mayan was a great place to have a dinner at the Commons..! It was big enough to add the three more screens, but if LHM was still alive, he'd make sure that no sound leakage would be noticed. Bet they didn't cut the floors then ...)

Enough of Belle and Company. Now, moving forward with "the Host" come spring....
