Greetings:

No one saw this film? Very long and very engaging. 3 parts woven together. The first part, with Ryan Gosling as the bike rider in a giant metal ball in a carnival side show is the best. He is a very interesting actor/charactor to study.

Part two is with Brandley Cooper. He/his character is milk-toast compared to Ryan Gosling. This part of the films focuses on him as a cop.

Part 3 takes place 15-16 years later and focuses on the sons of each of the forementioned gentlemen.

A bit long at 150 minutes, but a very well made film.

I've seen it a while back. At roughly 240 GByte for the 2K DCP, I expected the picture to be rather amazingly detailed. Mind you, this movie isn't in 3D, or HFR, it is rather long although.

The opposite is actually true, the picture is dark and very grainy. I guess they did their best to keep the grain in the digital version as "authentic" as possible and grain doesn't compress very well.

Regarding the movie itself: Go see it, it might not be the best movie you ever watched, but it is well worth the 150 minutes it takes. Like Mike Croaro already told you, it's a movie in three parts, each focusing on a specific time and perspective.

I caught this one during the week after national break here in the US. I can't add anything more than Mike, the three storylines were very engaging.

I guess because I did see this in 35mm, I actually wasn't bothered by the grain. I thought all round, the acting, the cinematography, the story, the soundmix were all implemented well to the overall effect of the movie.
