AUDITORIUM: 6
PRESENTATION: Mystery Meat Digital
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: Picture was just a bit soft, sound was a bit low, but everything worked
RATING: Three stars (out of four)

THE PLOT: A drug dealer becomes a drug smuggler. Wackiness ensues.

So our drug dealing hero gets in a bind and ends up agreeing to smuggle some pot in from Mexico. He gets his stripper neighbor, a runaway girl, and a geeky boy neighbor whose mother has disappeared to come along under the guise they're a vacationing family to keep suspicion from being aroused at the border. That this is accomplished less than halfway through the movie shouldn't be thought about much, because of course, there's a plot twist.

This was actually funny and a bit more raunchy than I was expecting. There are some seriously hilarious moments.

Word of mouth kept this one going the past weekend. I can see why.

I liked the fuckin' movie but thought the fuckin' language was a bit much. I realize it was fuckin' supposed to make the characters seem fuckin' "street tough," but FUCK! I've only known a couple of people who say "fuckin'" that much. This movie fuckin' makes it sound like everyone fuckin' talks that way all the fuckin' time. (I suppose alot of teenage fuckin' girls do when they're trying to be fuckin' cool.)

Anyway, I thought "The Heat" was a lot fuckin' better. 2.5 stars.

Really? I thought We're the Millers is twice as good and three times funnier than The Heat. The language in The Heat was way over-the-top, too; somehow it didn't bother me in We're the Millers.

I suppose the language in The Heat didn't bug me because it was a buddy-cop movie and a lot of those movies have that kind of language. In a "family comedy" it seemed more forced.

I did enjoy the Jennifer Aniston striptease scene, mostly because of Jennifer Aniston but also because it featured one of my favorite tunes ("Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith).
