CINEMA: 13th Avenue Warren, Wichita, KS
AUDITORIUM: 12
PRESENTATION: Dolby Digital Cinema/THX
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: None
RATING: Two stars (out of four)
THE PLOT: An unlikable depressing character goes nowhere. Wackiness...uh, no...that pretty much sums up the whole movie.
Set around 1959-1960 or so (it's documented in the script that Elvis was in the military at the time), a grumpy folk musician sleeps on any couch he can, argues with everyone, and...um...occasionally plays a song.
There's two reasons to see this...the dinner party scene, and John Goodman. Okay, maybe some of the musical performances (500 Miles comes to mind, but it's not performed by the Davis character).
Other than that, it's really well done, but just not enjoyable.
