It surely must suck to be George Lucas right now. There you are, long time ago, in a galaxy not entirely unlike ours, hailed as a new director prodigy, discovered and funded by none the less than the legendary Francis Ford Coppola. Brain child behind the greatest grossing movie franchise ever, billions of dollars of pure cash on the bank and countless dollars in Disney stock. But nobody loves you anymore and nobody seemingly understands you. They even won't let you touch anything you previously created anymore. Still, Disney did you one last favor, although they didn’t even dare to put their real name on it.

This favor is called "Strange Magic". An animated CGI feature, by Lucasfilm Ltd and distributed by Touchstone.
Billed as “From the mind of George Lucas” sounds as hollow and hopeless as “From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan”.

The first ugly surprise this movie has in store for you: It’s actually a musical, because everybody likes even the most convoluted dialog to be sung by actors who are mediocre at singing at best. It’s so bad and annoying, it even ends up as a joke in the movie. My bet it was an inside job by one of the animators or story writers, subtly trying to get the message across to the guy who doesn’t like no for an answer...

The second surprise: The guy that once hired John Williams to create the most iconic sound track in history, has actually a very bad musical taste.

The third (but unfortunately not entirely last) ugly surprise: Seeing this movie will instantly make you permanently allergic for anything labeled "Romantic Comedy".

Conclusion: If you have the time and a sledgehammer, you should track down every copy of that movie and smash it.
