So you've got your scouts, and you've got your zombies. What else is there to say about a movie where three scouts and a stripper take on a zombie horde to save a town?

Actually, this movie really isn't as bad as it sounds and not as bad as I thought it would be. When I sat down to watch it I thought I would be in for 90 minutes of waiting for it to be over. Instead, there were a few really good bits of entertainment to be had. Emphasis on the "bits", of course. [Smile]

Super violent, of course, but the "stripper" actually keeps her clothes on. Since the movie is trying to check off every box for what might appeal to teenage boys, that really was a surprise. She wears a tank top and cut-off shorts throughout the entire movie.

It's very much like a video game and the action is pretty much non-stop. The premise is scouts fighting zombies and that's what you get to see.

The whole movie is over-the-top ridiculous but a few moments really stand out. The best scene is where one of the characters is hanging out of a window and the only thing that he has to hold onto is the, ahem, "member" of an older gentleman zombie wearing a bathrobe. Which stretches out to about three feet before breaking off. The second-best scene is where they are frantically jacking up the car and trying to change a tire while the zombie horde is about 50 feet away -- that doesn't sound like it should be funny but it's a hoot. The zombie deer is pretty original, too.

I'm personally not a big fan of horror movies but I usually try to get something topical for Halloween and this is... different. This isn't by any means a great movie but it's not bad and if you want to see a topical movie for Halloween you could do a lot worse than watching this one.

I guess I went into this with extremely low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's no 'Shaun of the Dead' but it's undeniably goofy and entertaining. I thought the casting was perfect. The zombie in roller skates and mobile wheelchair had me in stitches.
