I enjoyed this new film with Warren Beatty. Saw It in cinema #9 on a semi curved screen at the Cinelux Scotts Valley CA Cinema last Friday. Like so many theatres they don't close the side masking anymore when they show a flat 1.85 movie on a scope screen. Very annoying to see white screen on the sides. What I liked about this movie about Howard Hughes was the old original 35mm color footage from Hollywood Blvd shot in the late 50's that they used, also the stereo music from that time. Many newspaper people did not like the movie but we enjoyed the movie shown at a nice theatre in Scotts Valley CA with good light level on the screen. Many parts were filmed in very low light to keep the mystery of Howard going. I'd hate to see this film at a drive Inn or a low wattage bulb cinema. I think Warren will be up for some awards come Oscar time also directing. They did a great job with the look from 1958/1964. Go see It on the big screen, and tell your friends. So nice to watch a PG-13 film with some of my older friends that don't enjoy guns and violence used in many of the movies shown today.
