CINEMA: Regal Warren East 20, Wichita, KS
AUDITORIUM: 7
PRESENTATION: Warren 21 Recline-o-Vision with Regal Roller Coaster Vision
PRESENTATION PROBLEMS: If we the patrons can't use cell phones during the movie, why in the hell can Regal employees hang out in the auditoriums with their goddamn two-ways cranked up?
RATING: Three stars (out of four)
THE PLOT: A woman thinks she has a stalker. Wackiness ensues.
This is a terrific psychological thriller from Steven Soderbergh who firmly plants your opinion in one direction, then spins it around and makes you unsure just what the hell is going on. The visuals are haunting with some scenes where they don't even light he character's faces. The soundtrack is so sparse that when it pops up, you notice. The aspect ratio is REALLY narrow, adding to the claustrophobic effect. This is REALLY well put together overall.

Saw this film tonight. I enjoyed it. It's shot in what appears to be 1:66.

That ought to work well on all these modern un-masked theater screens.
The way things are going I won't put it past some "avant garde" filmmaker to shoot a feature for actual movie theaters in smart phone vertical video moron format.

regardless of the technology and how this was filmed, the Washington Post eviscerated this movie, the highly negative review scared me off.
