They have plans to take over and convert a closed mutiplex in southern California.(Edwards;I think) This will be called "The Bridge" Imax in one house,bars,valet parking,meals and as they say...And so much more! anyone heard anything about this? It's supposed to open this summer.------------------

I am confirming that what you heard is true. "The Bridge" which is the handle that these theatres will be known by, will be high end theatres, valet parking, restaurants, bar reserved seating etc... It is a former Edwards Location.

The Bridge was supposed to be a FUTURE Edwards site... but right before they filed for bankruptcy, they missed a payment and the Landlord, being PSYCHIC or something, kicked them out.They got good NA to come in.

Wasn't "The Bridge" supposed to have been in a Hughes mall? Where exactly is it?------------------

If it's a "Hughes" mall, that would be the Howard Hughes Center. It's in Westchester (near LAX) at Howard Hughes Parkway and the 405. It was the site of the Fantasia temporary IMAX, and Edwards was supposed to be the anchor occupant in the new center. Glad to hear someone's going to step in there and potentially do a better job of running a theater complex than Edwards (not hard to do--believe me). 
BTW by using bankruptcy to get out of its mall leases, Edwards pretty much killed the Queensway Bay development project here in Long Beach, since again they were supposed to be the anchor occupant. With Queensway gone it looks like we may also lose our new aquarium, which was built on the assumption of having Queensway there to draw crowds.
