I've been told that you can just buy the head and mount it onto an existing projector lamphouse.These projectors use disks, right? What are the disks like? are they like DVD's?

But it turns out most powersupplies are too dirty of DC output makeing the flicker levels to high
The storage device is currently various raid type devices Qbit and the pluto units have been used. At showest Boeing had there unit on display
Currently the films are being provided on multiple DVD data disks. As of yet there is no standards in place. And if the attempts to insitute high definition TV are any example it will be a while before they get around to agreeing on one

AFAIK, the DLP-Cinema projector has special requirements regarding the lamphouse, primarily to control radiant energy so heat damage doesn't occur to the DMD modulators and prism block. At the very least, additional dichroic coatings are used on a special reflector. The projector also needs cooling by circulating water.------------------
