UA, Regal and Edwards seem to be in Anschutz hands, AMC is bidding for General Cinema as is Century, and Loews-Cineplex was in bankruptcy last time I checked. So does anybody know what's up with Cinemark? How are they faring in all this? Are they closing or disposing of theatres? They seem to have been strangely quiet during all this. Anybody know anything? Just curious.

Cinemark is hanging in there....they are no longer building right now but have on occasion been aquiring theaters as they see fit....they aquired some in San Antonio, TX a few months ago that were Regal theaters from what I understand....As far as I know Cinemark is still a privately held company......you can get the last info for pupblic reading of there finacial standings for the first half of the year at WWW.Cinemark.com

LCE is actually doing quite well for ourselves, though our stock is only about .16 a share we are rebounding strongly. We are building again, and hiring managers and stuff. We are actually in good shape.------------------

The post above is correct. Cinemark has been acquiring some theatres and shifting some others around.Cinemark is holding strong. As with everyone, I'm sure, that we all try to keep payroll expenses as low as possible. Even if it means that management is the one who closes the theatre and sends the staff home as soon as possible.
