Holiday Village 4 (Park City, UT) ... early February
I think we have another one or two going up in Texas.. No where near the rate we used to throw em up...
Yes, we have several theater projects going.. one in Las Vegas as well
Like everyone, our revenues reduced compaired to last year. But, we're still doing pretty good, especially compaired to others. We've got a pretty good managment team, theaters in good locations, and quite frankly, have had some good luck!
By the way, while there were plans for Eastern Federal to build in Raleigh, I am fairly sure those plans are cancelled...or at least on indefinite hold.
Mission Velley is adding a new screen? I thought that theater already had 5 screens. Are you talking about the Lumina theater in Chapel Hill? I miss those Ambassador Entertainment theaters. I used to go to the Rialto, and the Colony alot when I lived in Raleigh and wanted to see an independent.
When I went on Eastern Federal's website the other day I saw the article about the proposed new theater for Raleigh. I was kind of surprised myself. I thought it would go at that MarqE outdoor mall they keep fighting about off the beltline and Capital Blvd, but it's not. This one says the corner of I-540 and US-70 in the Brier Creek Shopping Center. That would be that mess of an intersection of Gleenwood Ave. near the Angus barn and the airport. It's seems like a kind of dumb place for a theater if you ask me. The Raleigh Grand is only about 3 or 4 miles away at best. Like you said it might have been canceled, although the article is pretty descriptive and some what recent. (Easternfederal.com/EFC News)
We are adding a 5th screen at the Lumina...it's going to be upstairs, over the arcade.
Mission Valley already has 5 screens...will possibly expand that theatre in the next couple of years.
I don't know what Eastern Federal's plans are for their Raleigh theatre. I cannot get their website to work right now to read the page you pointed to. But, like you, I think it is stupid to put a 14-plex 2.5 miles from the still-new Raleigh Grande, and also close to the not-yet-old Park Place 16 in Morrisville. The old man that has been the president of Eastern Federal for years died not too long ago...I wonder if that changed the plans at all?
Also found article on bizjournals.com about Dickinson building a new 18 in Wichita.
A customer here has a design for a theatre building that I thought was really cool. It would cost a fortune to build though as its shaped like the Starship Enterprise....Yea, really, ask Dave Williams if ya don't believe me! I wonder if the Stealth design is at all similar to his plan which was originally drawn over 15 years ago.
