We were delivered a very large crate today. At first I thought it was a new popper since one of ours is being a real PITA. Come to find out this 225 lb. crate contained the new Spirit Standee (not the red one with the horse silhouette like the banner). This thing actually contains a life size plastic horse which is to be situated on cardboard grass. This thing is huge, bigger than any other standee I've ever see. Have any of you seen this or any other obsessively massive standees?

Jeeze, that must take the cake. Now we know why Jack Valenti was complaining about the marketing costs being too high.My question is, how are you going to dispose of that thing when it comes time to do so? It is certain you are going to have to pay through the nose to get rid of that thing.
Maybe you could have a drawing and help the "winner" load it in his pick-up truck?

Disney had sent out very large and realistic replicas of Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. If you look at the picture, you can see that they were pretty detailed. Disney actually took those back because they were being given away in a national contest with Toys R' Us. They were impressive...

All Disney got back from us was sulley with a head missing.
Mike got stolen after a week or two, and Sulley was beheaded soon after the film was released. The rest of his body spent a week or so in the booth before being hauled off.
If we have one of these at work, im going to make sure i get a picture of me riding it.

I remember a standee for Godzilla being about 6ft tall and 8ft wide. I never saw the Mighty Joe Young Standee but I hear it was about 20ft tall.

I think standee's are getting wildly out of control, some of them would have trouble fitting in an aircraft hangar, and even the simplest of them are getting more complicated to build - i swear the design teams are all on coke or something. 'yeah man, it'd be cool to make, like, that guy more 3d or something?, i know make it like a banner, but with a base, and make it really complicated to build'

I really hate those big banner standees with a base. Complete lack of creativity and takes forever to put together.

The Mighty Joe Young standee was indeed 20 feet tall. It took a team of assemblers to put it together, but when it came time to take it down, no help from anyone! The manager's decision... "Just push it over and we'll take it apart piece by piece." CRASH! I guess the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Three hours later, we finally got to go home. The thing was HUGE!

I was with him when he did END OF DAYS.
Another friend of mine and I drove his car through the rolling stone review TRAFFIC standee.
Pretty cool mindless fun.

The "Orca" standee was around 20 to 24 feet long IIRC. It had a fishing village and whale and some other stuff. Big standees aren't new. The original Star Trek standee was another big one.
