Hey everyone. I'm trying to compile a list of all the studio exhibitor websites, the private ones film companies have to order posters/trailers from, etc. I know Universal has one at www.exhibitorrelations.com, but I don't know of any others. Searching the Forums and the Links section didn't turn up any results. Thanks for the help.

There's Technicolor: http://exhibitor.technicolor.com but it's worthless for trailers...everything is backordered.

They have this space where you have to type in "Your theatre's release date (for playing the trailer)", whatever the hell that means. Is that the date we plan to play the movie? The date we want to debut the trailer? Anyway, if you put anything in that box, you get a message saying to contact the exhibitor relations dept directly. I hope this is a work-in-progress and not the "final" website.

I didn't know about the Sony or WB sites... a big help.

comment about subdomains edited... (yeah yeah yeah, censorship sucks, but not when you can censor yourself....)

Sony sent email (presumably to evereone with a www.sonypicturereleasing.com account) announcing their new Repertory web site, www.sonypicturesrepertory.com. According to the announcement, it has a search engine to find detailed info on titles (rating, runtime, aspect ratio, cast info), supports on-line print-availability inquiries, and lets you download the list of available repertory titles.

Good job, Sony!

Among other things, it seems that some old rep titles have trailers available through Sony, something I would not have expected. e.g.: Dr. Strangelove.

At the NATO seminar in April the DreamWorks people said that they were in the process of merging their ER department into Paramount's; therefore it may already be a done deal.

MGM exhibitor does not work. Anyone has a new contact other than Technicolor.

I personally do not think theatres should pay for advertising movies (posters, ect). So I try not to call Technicolor.

What about Lucas Film (Digital now, I think). The City University at Brooklyn Film Department wants to run a special event STAR WARS (New Hope). Fox says (stock answer for practically everything classic) that it has been "taken out of service;" seems that Lucas has taken all of the STAR WARS films out of circulation, even though we ran all six of them as a marathon at the Brooklyn Museum a few years ago.

Anyone have any contact info at George's place where I can convince them that showing the movie that his empire was built on is a GOOD thing?

Also, I've heard from good sources that Fox struck new prints of CAROUSEL and THE KING AND awhile back. I would love to be able to play both, but no one at Fox seems to have a clue. Correct that -- no one I have been able to reach so far. Anyone have any insider contacts that I could try?

Funny you should ask, Steve. I was once sold a set of B&L anamorphics that the seller claimed were made for CinemaScope 55. They are huge things that weigh about 15 lbs and certainly the rear opening is big enuf that they could "see" a 55mm frame without vingetting. But then a few years later another guy claimed that no, they were not specifically made for CS55, but just B&H's big mutha anamorphics. I like to think that indded they are CinemaScope 55 lenses and that I was not dupped.

It is likely that it was just a CinemaScope attachement "type II". It would be silver with a red lock down ring (the only way I've seen them). They were not specifically for CinemaScope-55. They were intended to be used with 4" diameter prime lenses in applications like Drive-Ins to maintain the f/1.7 speed (or not take as much away as a 2-25/32 diameter lens would do on longer focal lengths that Drive-Ins use).
