Just curious about something. When a theatre charges more for a specific kind of seat in their theatre (the old style loge seats or the new kind of premium seating in a walled off section of the theatre), does the theatre get to keep the entire difference between a general admission ticket, or pay the same percantage for, say, a twenty dollar ticket (the VIP section at Mann's Chinese 6, Hollywood) and the ten dollar regular admission ticket?

The terms of rental are dictated by the contract, but in general the rental is payed on the full amount of admission charged, including any premium or up-charges or additions. This has been a source of controversy where concessions (or meals) or other items have been included as combo price (e.g. the $4.00 gimmick including all-you-can-eat at the concession stand with the oeprator trying to claim the admission is $1.00 and the other $3.00 is allocated to concessions).This sort of thing is thesubject of current dispute between AMC and 20th Fox. Fox claims that it is entitled to its percentage of film rental on the 'service charge' for telephone/on-line tickets - which is why AMC did not do such ticketing for SWEII.

It depends on the specific situation. I know that there is a special deal with the Cinemark VIP Room at the Palace in Kansas City ($10 Matinee, $15 Eve Sun-Thurs, $18 Eve Fri-Sat), but I am not at liberty to disclose the specifics of the film rental agreements.
