I have very reliable sources that some prints of "God & Generals" are scratched. Exclusively from the Philadelphia area. Just a heads up.

I just saw it last night at AMC's new downtown Chicago 21-plex and I would describe the print as grade C. No scratches but pretty much every reel had a lab splice (some were on the frameline and curiously semi invisible--I'd like to see a 35PA/RP40 there to see what the cropping situation is) and some reels had noticable very brief light-struck discoloration at the ends. Nothing at all like the pristine print I ran for critics a couple weeks ago. This venue also has it in DLP but I didn't look in.

While I'm nitpicking, minor travel ghost at the bottom and xenon flicker til the bulb warmed up.

I've seen a lot of lab splices also on these prints.

The print I just saw was pretty good -- I only noticed 2 lab splices, and no scratches at all. Overall it looked very good.

Our print (We're in the Philly area) did have about nine lab splices. Three in one reel! Unfortunately, the print didn't show up until 1pm on Friday afternoon and needed to be onscreen by 2pm, so we didn't have time to cut them all out. No scratches though.
