I had it for 43 weeks, it played in all seven screens during that run. It would share a small screen one week, then the next week it would be in our largest house, it was quite a thing.

The funny part is, I never saw it! If it had been out for 44 weeks I think I would have.

I know that this is probably not a record but we had it since May 2002 until just a few weeks ago. It played 5 shows a day every day in its own auditorium for the entire run. That print was run through the projector more than 1200 times and looked fantastic on that last run with little to no noticable degradation.

Angelika in Dallas picked it up on it's first break last April and dropped it either 2 or 3 weeks ago.

the last showing at my theatre was the day after the dvd was realeased. i've never seen a movie make it to that point.

We had it from opening day until mid-December at a 6-plex. I think it was the record for that location (just barely edging out Monsoon Wedding). I didn't see it until I ran it the next week for a local college.

I had mixed feelings about this film: On one hand, I didn't particularly like it. On the other hand, we need more titles which have plenty of "shelf life" and which succeed by word-of-mouth and fewer over-hyped turkeys which gross $30 million on opening weekend and then die three weeks later.

Although it's moved around among ALL the theatres in this area, it's been playing continuously in this market since it opened in, what, May 2002? It's still playing 5 shows a day, currently at Cinemark Movies 12 in Springfield.

We had four separate bookings for it. After it had been out for several months we got it, kept it for a few weeks, then lost it, got it back, lost it, got it back, lost it and got it back again. Of course each print we got was in progressively worse shape. It would have been wonderful if we could have kept the first print - which was virgin.

We had the film from July till December..it went away to another theatre and came BACK to my theatre in January. We had it 2 days after the DVD was released. And people were still showing up for it!

We took it at the break and had it until last week, a week and a half after the DVD came out! People were still showing up and it was still one of our highest attended films even after the DVD...we shouldn't have dropped it! [Smile]

I'll check on the # of weeks tomorrow at work.

The Regal Madison Square 12 in my area carried My Big Fat Greek Wedding from June 7, 2002 until yesterday (February 27. 2003), which is I think is a 38-week run. That's the longest run I remember. I wonder how many movies have run longer. (Maybe Titanic).

Now how about a count of how many theaters the movie is STILL playing at? From what I've read in BC, it's still at the Willowbrook theater in Langley (which is a discount theater, but still). It just ended at a theater in Nanaimo last week, too.

Box Office Mojo claims it's in 353 theatres (not screens), down from 533 in the two weeks previous. That's as of last weekend.

We had it from April 22,2002 until it was released on DVD and video. I say 41 weeks. Our original of two copies had pretty close to 1000 runs.

I've got a BFingGW record for you. I played BFGW 2 weeks in my towns, and that was 1 week too long!
Due to the booker in Chicago feeling a need to play games,to make up for his short comings, no doubt. We didn't get to play BFGW until just before Christmas, still had to keep it 2 weeks, and pay 50%!
Then to top it all off, I thought the movie was over acted and under directed.
