Hey all,

OK, here goes. What is a good theater chain or company to work for (if any). The company I used to work for, which shall remain nameless, was pretty lame to work for as a projectionist. I started doing booth in October 2002 and was fired two weeks ago tomorrow. Now I'm stuck working at a grocery store and a second-run movie theater. I don't know everything, but I know a lot. I have a thorough understanding of booth equipment, could thread, build-up and break-down, clean, do minor repairs, troubleshoot sound and pcitrue problems and resolve most of them, train newbs, etc, etc. I was making a whopping $6.45 an hour and was the most knowledgeable staff projectionist. (FYI I make more at the second-run but work less and its only teo screens) On top of that I had to wear the geeky uniform, and do box and concession with the minimum wagers.

Enough ranting, what I want to know is what is a good chain of theaters where I can be utilized? What's a real pay rate? I'm even thinking of calling other nearby theaters because I have been stuck using the same platters (Speco LP-270) and nearly the same Simplexes (PR 1060, XL) at all the theaters I have worked at. I want to learn to use more Christie and Strong equipment. DO most of you all work for chains and indepentands?

Also I plan on going to the Kodak Advanced Projection Training if they ever announce when it is.

I will appreciate any information you all can give me.
