Ok..so after four years I am leaving my theater to move to atlanta, ga. I have hired a bunch of newer staff...but i still want to leave my old crew with a laugh...so any funny theater prank ideas that the mighty Film Gods wish to bestow on such a humble commoner as myself would be most appreciated [thumbsup]

Ask, and ye shall receive ... Use at your own risk, your mileage may vary... [evil]

drape yourself in an old trailer and run through the lobby 5 minutes before showtime screaming, "OH MY GOD!! THE MOVIE BROKE!! We have NO RIGHT to meddle with the FORCES of NATURE!!" [Big Grin]

Chris, are you going to be working for any theater in atlanta? if so, which one?

I told a new hire to pick up some Technicolor and a Delux kit at the store when the manager sent him to get hot-dog buns the other day. He came back and asked me if I was joking...

I also wrapped myself in rolls old ads and came down stairs to let everyone know there was a "slight technical difficulty"

I also recommend gluing quarters to the counter, floor, cieling, walls. Or if you're one of those theaters who hands out those goddamn AOL cd's you could tape a bunch of them to the cieling silver side down. That'll leave them baffled for a while.

You could also tape the ends of a bunch of ones together, those are fun.

I don't usually play any pranks on my crew because they're teenagers and think I'm being "stupid," but once I told them all that I felt I wasn't getting the proper respect from them, and they would all need to stop calling me Mike and instead they were to call me "Mr. Blakesley." So for the rest of the evening if they called me Mike I would just ignore them until they said "Mr. Blakesley." (I also said that "Sir" would be acceptable.) It was pretty funny. I was only able to keep it up for a couple of hours until I cracked up laughing and admitted it was a joke.

If you have air hockey tables, a good one is to have them remove the "static" by rubbing them on the carpet. Another classic is to have a new staff member drain the water fountain.
